- Session 1: The MTSBA Legal Staff will focus on the hiring process, the application of the Wrongful Discharge act to schools, and the necessity of employment contract language that provides protections for districts, the different types of employees, and protections afforded to employees under Montana law.
- Session 2: The MTSBA Legal Staff will focus on the employment relationship from start to finish, including a summary of the discussions during Session 1 on the importance of contract terms and language, establishing expectations through job descriptions, effective evaluation procedures, discipline pitfalls, and termination of employment.
- Session 3: The MTSBA Legal Staff will discuss recruitment and retention strategies for schools and the benefits afforded classified employees under Montana law.
