2026 MTSBA Leadership Summit: A Century of Leadership, A Future of Possibilities

Join school trustees, superintendents, school business officials, district clerks, and other leadership team members from across Montana for a special gathering celebrating MTSBA’s 100 years of leadership in public education while preparing for the opportunities ahead.


This two-day event, June 9 and 10, 2026, at MTSBA Headquarters, Helena, will bring together new and veteran trustees and their leadership teams for meaningful learning, statewide collaboration, and an important opportunity to help shape the future of Montana’s public schools. No fee to attend!


Leadership Summit, Tuesday, June 9, 9:00 am - 4:15 pm: Start the day with interactive and engaging sessions designed to strengthen board leadership and governance. Gain practical tools and insights to support effective decision-making, strong superintendent relationships, and confident leadership in today’s complex education environment. 

MTSBA Centennial Celebration Reception, Tuesday, June 9, 5:00 - 7:00 pm:  Celebrate the centennial of the Montana School Boards Association and honor more than 160 years of elected trustee leadership across Montana, alongside colleagues and partners from across the state. This reception honors the trustees and communities who have shaped Montana’s schools and looks ahead to the next century of service.

Annual Membership Meeting, Wednesday, June 10, 9:00 - 11:30 am: Members will convene to review and provide input on the MTSBA Legislative platform approved by the Delegate Assembly at MCEL 2025 for the 2027 Montana Legislative Session, ensuring that the voices of local school boards help guide education policy.
