9:00 – 10:00 am The History of School Funding in Montana – This discussion will provide attendees with an understanding of how far we have come with funding Montana’s public schools.

10:00 – 10:15 am Mid-morning Break

10:15 – 11:15 am   The Budgeting Process at the Local Level – The focus of this session will be on the components of a District’s Budget and accompanying legal authority and restrictions.

11:15 am – Noon  Personalized Learning Options for Montana’s Public Schools – This session will focus on the laws and administrative rules that support personalized learning.

Noon – 1:15 pm  Lunch on your own

1:15 – 2:15 pm Flexibility and Efficiencies in District Operations and Objectives – This discussion will provide you with specific examples of how each of the policies in MTSBA’s Flexibilities and Efficiencies Series can improve district operation and individual student success.  

2:15 – 3:00 pm   Legislative Update – The MTSBA staff will provide you with a real-time update on education bills that impact Montana’s public schools.

3:00 – 3:30 pm Question and Answer Session
