Given that the hiring process, the employment relationship and the cessation of employment are areas of high-risk for any District, this training is critical for trustees and administrators. Those who take advantage of this value-added training sponsored by MTSBA’s Unemployment Insurance Program (MTSUIP) will come away with enhanced knowledge of lawful and effective hiring practices, the significance of employment contracts and the interplay with established periods of probation for newly-hired employees, effective tools for improving employee performance, the importance of compliance with progressive discipline and due process requirements, and the impact of the New FLSA Overtime Rules on school employees.
